This website is devoted to cases involving injury, death or healing to the witnesses involved. I have taken the liberty of creating the new "Sixth Kind" element of Hynek's classification. While they are usually lumped in with other physical effects cases such as landing traces, I believe they are important enough to warrant their own designation. Some time ago, Jacques Vallee began identifying such cases as encounters of the "fifth kind," but this designation never caught on. Instead, it has come to be associated with cases involving alleged human initiated contact with aliens. Hence I created the "Sixth Kind" designation.

This website contains the latest version of the report on Close Encounters of the Sixth Kind, including various tables and charts, and now contains the raw data and a brief paragraph summary of each case. In the future, several new variables will be added to the data table, such as indicators for abduction, intention, and whether or not the injuries/healings sustained were directly caused by the unknown object(s) or their occupants. As I obtain new cases, I will update the report (about once every six months or so), and change the version number.
